Disaster Preparedness Event Held in Osaka for Little Leaguers
On November 13 in Osaka, Civic Force hosted a disaster preparedness event featuring the Japan Professional Baseball Players Association. 70 local little leaguers joined and learned about the drones used during disaster assistance and CPR. The participants also received prizes and entered a raffle for baseball goods.
At the drone booth hosted by Drone Plus, the participants got to operate and learn about the different types of drones.
Participants were quizzed on how much water should be stocked for disaster, what to do if a disaster strikes when taking a bath, and what kind of baseball equipment can be utilized during assistance. Children also learned how to use a hazard map and find their home and evacuation area.
The Higashi-Osaka Fire Department offered CPR training and gave a demonstration on what to do when someone suddenly collapses.
Kao, a cosmetics company, showcased how to wash clothes in emergencies using their products and demonstrated how to do laundry with little water.
After the participants visited all the booths, they were asked to provide feedback on a message board focusing on what they learned and future actions for disaster preparedness.
Civic Force continues hosting events for children in partnership with the Players’ Fund.
