Civic Force Participates in DRR Event in Takeo City, Saga
On May 15, 2022, Civic Force participated in a disaster preparedness festival in Takeo City, Saga.
Takeo City was struck by floods two years in a row in 2020 and 2021. In recent years, climate change is evident in frequent and large-scale natural disasters. In anticipation of the rainy season in Japan, the event was held to look back on the past disasters and discuss future preparedness. Civic Force displayed evacuation items and hygiene kits along with tips to stock emergency supplies at home. Participants remarked, “it is important to understand how evacuation centers are maintained” and “I saw an emergency portable toilet for the first time”.
Civic Force is advocating with local municipalities for preparedness during non-emergency times to prepare for future disasters.
